Students returned for back-to-school learning fun at all three Anneliese Schools campuses this week, and what an eventful week it was!
Across grades, from Willowbrook to Aliso to Manzanita, students met their teachers for the 2023-24 school year and settled into class rhythms and routines. Here’s a peek at scenes from all three campuses this week.
Ms. Patti’s K2 class enjoyed both recess and class time together.
Willowbrook Campus
Our Nursery to 6th campus in Laguna Beach’s Wilderness Canyon saw a buzz of excitement this week.
Ms. Angela’s K1 class was all smiles while gathered together on their deck.
K1 students formed a choo-choo line at drop off.
K1 students got a chance to spend time with Ms. Janet and the mini horses.
Our new 2nd grade teacher, Ms. Joanna, led 1st and 2nd grade students in morning circle time inside the tipi.
Ms. Sam’s K1 class made beautiful music with Ms. Kallie.
First grade students were eager to take over their playground on the first day of school.
Frau Tina’s 2nd grade class made delicious shape cookies in their first week.
Mr. Forrest led students through fun P.E. activities all week.
KS students engaged in a nature art class with Ms. Sami.
Ms. Emily’s 3rd grade class had fun getting comfortable in their classroom.
Mr. Mike’s 4th grade class kicked the year off with thoughtful projects.
Mr. Martyn’s 4th grade class made a “Snapshots” project reflecting on summer memories.
Mr. Joshua’s 5th grade class began the school year with STEAM projects to see which group could build the tallest tower using various containers.
Joshua says, “Students worked together to develop teamwork skills, resilience, and engineering skills. The ‘winning’ group constructed a tower 118 centimeters tall, but every group came away wiser from the experience.”
KS students made colorful creations in Ms. Yeggi’s art class.
Manzanita Campus
Our magical Manzanita Campus in Downtown Laguna welcomed their students with joy this week.
Students were all smiles to join Ms. Lisa and Frau Conny on the first day.
Aliso Campus
Our staff at the Aliso Campus in South Laguna were ecstatic to begin the school year with play, reading, art, garden time, and much more.
Ms. Mary, the Gardening Teacher, was ready to welcome students back to the garden.
Aliso students gathered for a delicious meal prepared by our Nourishment Team.
